Troilus Gold Corp. (TLG:TSX; CHXMF:OTCQB) announced in a news release that additional drill results from its Troilus gold project in Quebec, Canada extended the Southwest zone about 25% along strike.
The results are from five holes drilled from the northeast extent of Southwest into the 2.5 kilometer (2.5 km) gap between it and the Z87 zone.
"Results to date demonstrate a strong continuity of mineralization from the Southwest zone towards Z87 and J zones," CEO Justin Reid said in the release.
Drill results extended Southwest along strike to 1 km-plus from 825 meters (825m). They also extended the West zone by 100m, and mineralization there remains open. As for the Main zone, Troilus Gold identified a potential new gold zone to the southeast of it, which showed above average intervals of gold mineralization.
"As we continue stepping out to the northeast, closing the gap towards Z87, we are observing gold mineralization over large widths and at higher grades than the original Southwest mineral resource estimate, that remain open in all directions," Reid added.
Examples of those grades are 3.65 grams per ton gold equivalent (3.65 g/t Au eq) over 9m, including 5.32 g/t Au eq over 6m, 14.63 g/t Au eq over 1m and 6.15 g/t Au eq over 1m. Widths of intersected mineralization were 650m-plus.
"We are highly encouraged by the rapid growth of this zone, which we believe will bode well for the next phase of engineering, the prefeasibility study, planned for completion in H2/21."
