Aurania Resources Ltd. (ARU:TSX.V; AUIAF:OTCQB) announced in a news release the Peruvian government granted the company its first mineral concessions in the South American country.
"Application for this extensive concession package was made to cover potential extensions of the sedimentary-hosted copper-silver identified over the border in the company's Lost Cities– Cutucu project in Ecuador.
Of the 393 concessions, covering about 384,000 hectares in northern Peru, that Aurania had applied for, in mid-2019, the government granted it six. Together, that sextet forms an area that adjoins the property owned by Hannan Metals and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals in a joint venture, where the geology is ideal for hosting copper.
Also, Aurania obtained, free of charge, from the Peruvian government seismic data from the area of the company's new six concessions, generated in the past by various oil companies. Next for Aurania is interpreting that information.
