Emerita Resources reports the next steps it is taking to obtain the environmental license to drill at its Iberia Belt West project.

In a news release, Emerita Resources Corp. (EMO:TSX.V; EMOTF:OTCMKTS; LLJA:FSE) announced that the engineering firm FRASA Ingenieros Consultores is helping prepare the environmental documentation required to obtain a permit, an Autorizacion Ambiental Unificada (AAU), to drill at its Iberia Belt West project in Spain.

An AAU is only required for certain sections of the Iberia Belt West property, the El Cura portion and the area located in the city of Paymogo. This is because these two sections fall under a different land classification, and the development requirements of both call for an AAU.

Other classifications, such as the one that pertains to Iberia Belt West's Infanta deposit, have fewer requirements, the company noted. All that is called for to start drilling there is publication of the reclamation plan for the planned diamond drill program on the government website for 30 days for public comment. Having submitted the plan and the permit application to the government in October, Canada-based Emerita expects the plan will get posted online within the next one to two weeks.

"We are confident that by using highly experienced and respected environmental consultants and engaging with the regulatory authorities that the plan for the drill program for Infanta will meet or exceed standards, and the program should be approved soon," Emerita President Joaquin Merino said in the release.

The company noted that within the Iberia Belt West Project area, "several base metal occurrences have been identified by previous exploration, the most significant of which are the Romanera and the La Infanta and El Cura base metal deposits."
