Group Ten Metals reported it has begun a till and rock sampling program at its Black Lake–Drayton Gold project adjacent to Treasury Metals Goliath-Goldlund property.

In a news release, Group Ten Metals Inc. (PGE:TSX.V; PGEZF:OTCQB; 5D32:FSE) announced that it commenced a till and rock sampling program at its wholly owned Black Lake–Drayton gold project in northwestern Ontario, Canada. The firm noted that Black Lake–Drayton is located in the Rainy River district and adjoins Treasury Metals Inc.'s (TML:TSX) recently consolidated Goliath-Goldlund gold project.

The company indicated that its 2020 work program is presently underway and is concentrated on till and rock sampling with the objective of advancing previously identified high-grade gold targets. Group Ten Metals added that till sampling has successfully identified significant high-grade gold deposits in similar conditions and related geology in the Sioux Lookout Deformation Zone and across the Rainy River gold belt.

The company's President and CEO Michael Rowley commented, "We are pleased to return to Black Lake–Drayton to expand upon the success of recent campaigns which validated the use of orientation entropy anomalies in target generation and returned positive results in our first till sampling program. Since that time, the district has seen significant advancement with increasing recognition of the potential for new discoveries and resource expansion in an under-explored yet productive high-grade jurisdiction."

"The Company continues to receive expressions of interest from potential strategic partners for the Black Lake-Drayton project with a view to continuing our focus on our flagship Stillwater West battery and platinum group metals project in Montana. We look forward to reporting results from all programs in the near term, including drill results from our 2020 campaign at Stillwater," Rowley added.

Group Ten Metals explained that the Black Lake-Drayton project encompasses greater than 137 sq km and covers more than 30 km of under-explored strike length in the Abrams–Minnitaki Lake Archean greenstone belt. The firm stated that this area hosts many well-known deposits including Treasury Metals' Goliath-Goldlund and New Gold Inc.'s (NGD:TSX; NGD-NYE-Amex) Rainy River project. The company added that since its discovery, the Rainy River deposit has yielded around 10 Moz of gold.

Group Ten reported that Black Lake–Drayton has undergone numerous historic occurrences with multiple high-grade bulk samples being recorded in over 127 drill holes of which 43% intercepted gold or copper mineralization.
