Dolly Varden Silver hits "intercepts with consistent, strong silver mineralization, significant thickness and areas of very high-grade silver," including 1,240 g/t silver over 16 meters.

Dolly Varden Silver Corp. (DV:TSX.V; DOLLF:OTCMKTS) announced in a news release the results from stepout and infill drilling at its Torbrit silver property in British Columbia.

"We are pleased to see stepout drill intercepts with consistent, strong silver mineralization, significant thickness and areas of very high-grade silver," President and CEO Shawn Khunkhun said in the release. "These results should support continued resource expansion and the growing potential for bulk underground mining around the past-producing Torbrit silver mine."

Dolly Varden conducted stepout drill holes that extended 20–50 meters (20–50m) out from previous drill intercepts. Hole DV20-217, drilled in the Torbrit horizon, for instance, intersected 75m of 419 g/t silver, including 16m of 1,240 g/t silver. "This new intercept suggests that a higher-grade zone may be much larger than currently modeled within the current 43-101 mineral resource estimate," the release noted.

Another stepout hole, DV20-211, drilled at the edge of Torbrit East, demonstrated 12.75m of 351 g/t silver, including 3.35m of 951 g/t silver and 2.7m of 1,083 g/t silver.

The Vancouver-based silver explorer also carried out infill drilling to delineate high-grade zones and better understand the areas of silver mineralization encompassed by the existing mineral resource. Highlight infill hole DV20-217 returned 31.95m of 302 g/t silver, including 4m of 642 g/t silver.

The property-wide 2020 drill program, which is focusing on high-priority targets, remains in progress. Because the company has expanded it beyond the originally planned 10,000 meters, work will continue into the fall, the company stated. Assays from already-drilled holes at Torbrit are pending.
