Troilus Gold reported surface samples returned up to 9.7 g/t gold and 32.5 g/t silver from outcrop.

Beyan area

Troilus Gold Corp. (TLG:TSX; CHXMF:OTCQB) announced in a news release it discovered a new zone of gold mineralization at its Troilus project in Quebec's Frôtet-Evans greenstone belt, which it is calling Beyan.

It is located 8 kilometers to the southwest of the Southwest zone and currently has a strike length of 225 meters. The Toronto-based explorer identified this mineralized area in the first results from its 2020 exploration program.

"We believe Beyan could represent a continuation of the Troilus gold system further along trend," CEO Justin Reid said in the release.

The company noted that assay highlights from samples taken from outcrop there include up to 9.7 grams per ton (9.7 g/t) gold and 32.5 g/t silver. Other noteworthy surface sample results include gold values of 2.81 g/t, 2.69 g/t and 2.24 g/t.

Of the 150 samples taken from in and around the Beyan gold occurrence, results of 50 remain pending as do findings from about 600 channel samples, the company reported.

"The Troilus-Frôtet Property that we acquired earlier this year, represents a major blue sky opportunity for the Company. No exploration of any significance had been conducted on this property in recent decades and the historical focus has always been base metal. By applying our updated geological model developed around the main ore bodies over the last couple of years and applying modern exploration technology, we have been able to identify new near-surface gold occurrences, as evidenced by these initial results from Beyan. We await further results from locations across the Troilus-Frotêt property collected during the summer and believe that these showings could just be the beginning of what the district could host," stated Reid.
