Aurania Resources reported that Tiria-Shimpia is becoming another compelling target at Lost Cities–Cutucu.

Aurania Resources Ltd. (ARU:TSX.V; AUIAF:OTCQB) has discovered, through soil sampling, extensions to the areas of previously identified silver mineralization at the Tiria-Shimpia silver-gold target of its Lost Cities–Cutucu project in Ecuador, the company announced in a news release.

"Tiria-Shimpia is shaping up to be one of many compelling targets in Aurania's portfolio," Chairman and CEO Dr. Keith Barron said in the release.

At the target, the Toronto-based mining company reported that it has identified four main zones of silver mineralization, which together extend a total of 15 kilometers.

The firm advised that the silver zone sits in the center of a larger mineralized system that spans 75 square kilometers and remains open along trend. That larger system lies "on the flank of the biggest magnetic feature of our entire geophysical survey," Barron highlighted. In some parts of the system, slight gold enrichment occurs with or next to silver, but the majority of the silver occurs with zinc, lead and barium.

"We expect the roots of the mineralization to be a system of veins from which mineralization likely seeped into the layering of the limestone host rock to form flat-lying 'mantos,'" noted Barron.

Tiria-Shimpia is slated for scout drilling after completion of the drill program at Tsenken N2, which is currently in progress. The company advised that the next steps for Tiria-Shimpia are to do additional soil sampling to refine the newly discovered extensions and to do grid soil sampling to further refine the existing target areas. This work will inform the subsequent planning of the future scout drill program at Tiria-Shimpia.
