In a news release, StrikePoint Gold Inc. (SKP:TSX.V; STKXF:OTCQB) announced that while it awaits assays from phase 1 drilling at its Willoughby gold-silver project, it will explore for new and extension veins at its Porter silver property, both in British Columbia.
"Our primary goal is to discover new silver veins in order to connect the Silverado mine on the north side with the Prosperity/Porter Idaho mines on the south side of the mineralized structural corridor," President and CEO Shawn Khunkhun said in the release.
At Porter, the veins that StrikePoint Gold intends to target are ones that are outside of the historical resources and past producing parts of the property. The Vancouver-based company plans to prospect in areas that have been newly exposed due to movement of the Silverado glacier. To obtain samples from the steeper parts of this virgin terrain, the explorer noted it will employ experienced mountaineering crews and climbing geologists.
Regarding Willoughby, the assays for 62 collected surface samples and seven drill holes over 1,700 meters are pending. In the interim, StrikePoint Gold will maintain the drill pads and infrastructure at the property for potential follow-up drilling.
