In a news release, Grande Portage Resources Ltd. (GPG:TSX.V; GPTRF:OTCQB; GPB:FSE) provided an update on exploration work in progress at its Herbert gold project in Southeast Alaska.
The Vancouver-based exploration company stated that it is testing a set of parallel veins at Herbert. The set encompasses Goat, Main, Deep Trench and North, all of which "have significant amounts of associated gold," the release noted.
A second rig is now on site and drilling the unexplored areas of the Deep Trench and Main veins.
Regarding the North vein, which is the northernmost of the cluster, the geology team noted at least two quartz vein outcrops during surface exploration. As such, Grande Portage will trench and channel sample the vein and, later in the season, drill test it with two holes. Those would take the total number of holes drilled there to four.
