Liberty Gold Corp. (LGD:TSX; LGDTF:OTCQB) announced in a news release that further drill results extended the high-grade oxide D-3 zone at its Black Pine project in Idaho.
"The new drill results confirm that the D-3 Zone is a significant new discovery," President and CEO Cal Everett said in the release. "Given the grade, thickness and dimensions that are beginning to take shape, we believe that D-3 will have a positive material impact on the resource endowment at Black Pine."
D-3 is in close proximity to D-1 and D-2, the company noted.
At D-3, eight additional reverse circulation drill holes extended the mineralization in the zone by 400 meters (400m) in a north-south direction and by 250m in an east-west direction. D-3 remains open in all directions.
Further, Liberty Gold noted that every hole drilled returned multiple oxide gold intervals with grades above 0.5 grams per ton (0.5 g/t).
For instance, highlight hole LBP138, which was drilled at the south end of the zone, showed 1.2 g/t gold over 67.1m, including 2.57 g/t gold over 16.8m. The last 1.54m of the hole demonstrated 0.84 g/t gold.
Liberty Gold stated that it is continuing infill and stepout drilling of the D-3 area to determine the size, extent and orientation of the zone.
The company also reported that it appointed Peter Shabestari, who managed its Goldstrike and Black Pine projects, as its vice president of operations. With 25 years of experience in the industry, Shabestari will advance Liberty Gold's projects through development and derisking and will serve as the company's community and stakeholder liaison.
