Newrange Gold is preparing to restart operations as soon as COVID-19 restrictions are eased.

In a news release, Newrange Gold Corp. (NRG:TSX.V; NRGOF:OTC) provided an update on operations at its Pamlico project in Nevada and its North Birch Project in Ontario, both of which continue to be affected by COVID-19 mandates.

With the prospect of those restrictions being lessened in the near future, the company has been adjusting its exploration programs and schedules to resume work as soon as possible and at the same time, minimize coronavirus risk to its employees and contractors, its top priority, the company stated.

"In our preliminary discussions with drilling contractors, we are preparing a set of protocols to address issues related to COVID-19 to ensure that people working on site and those delivering supplies and services are appropriately protected under the unique circumstances of field exploration," CEO Robert Archer said in the release.

As for Pamlico, for the planned 5,000–10,000 meter drill program, the Canadian explorer expects in the next two weeks the start of road work and preparation on previously permitted and bonded sites. Additional permits are needed for the rest of the campaign, which Newrange expects can be obtained within 30 days.

At first, the company noted, reverse circulation drilling will be done with diamond drilling likely to follow later. Initial targets will be the mineralized areas that were historically mined along Pamlico Ridge and the anomalies seen on the recent induced polarization (IP) survey. The first zone to be tested will be Gold Bar.

As for North Birch, Newrange is awaiting receipt of necessary permits. Those cannot be gotten until the Ontario Mining Lands Administration System removes its temporary hold on all applications, anticipated after COVID-19 restrictions are removed. Once the company receives the necessary permits, it will do linecutting, geological mapping and sampling, and IP geophysics to delineate targets for future drilling.

"We anticipate that the company will be well-funded for our 2020 exploration programs and should have a steady news flow once we can get started," Archer added.
