Azarga Uranium notes that the location of that mineralization supports the potential use of in situ recovery there.

In a news release, Azarga Uranium Corp. (AZZ:TSX; AZZUF:OTCQB) announced it delineated further uranium mineralization at its Gas Hills in Wyoming through the first part of an in-progress historical analysis of data on the project.

Those data revealed that 173 intercepts from 147 holes returned an average U308 grade of 0.137% and an average thickness of 5.3 feet. The grade-thickness cutoff of the intercepts was equal to or greater than 0.2 using a 0.02% grade cutoff.

The newly identified uranium mineralization is within the Colorado-based company's existing mineral leases and permits for Gas Hills. Thus, potential exists to grow the project's resource with that additional mineralization.

Azarga also determined that in situ recovery (ISR) could be used at Gas Hills due to the mineralization occurring in sandstone-hosted roll fronts below the water table. "There is sufficient hydraulic head and permeability to allow for the successful use of ISR mining techniques at the majority of the Gas Hills project resource estimate, and this additional uranium mineralization indicates further upside potential for ISR amenable mineralization," Chief Operating Officer John Mays said in the release.

Gas Hills, because it is about 250 miles from Azarga's flagship Dewey Burdock ISR uranium project in South Dakota, could become a satellite project, the company noted. For Dewey Burdock, the company is still working toward obtaining class III and class V underground injection control permits from the Environmental Protection Agency.
