Falcon Gold reported that it received an exploration drill permit for 20 drill pad locations at its Ontario project.

In a news release, mineral exploration company Falcon Gold Corp. (FG:TSX.V) announced that "it has received an exploration and drill permit to carry out activities on its gold, silver and copper prospects on its central Canada project in Atikokan, Ontario." The firm indicated that the permit includes more than 20 drill pad locations, overburden trenching and geophysical prospect surveys.

The company advised that it has compiled multiple historical assessment reports for the site dating from 1903-2017. The firm stated that it has already completed the necessary field work and confirmed GPS coordinates of prospective drill locations in order to insure the data's accuracy prior to starting larger scale drilling, trenching and geophysics operations.

"Multiple gold, copper, cobalt and other metals occurrences have been discovered on the approximate 3,200 hectare property...and economic mineralization has been observed in highly mineralized shear zones and quartz veins," the company stated.

The firm mentioned additionally that "the largest nearby deposit discovered to-date is the Sapawe Gold Mine which produced 33,013 tonnes (4,547oz au & 1,315oz ag) with an unclassified resource of 528,614 tonnes @ 0.31 oz/t gold calculated by Sapawe Gold Mines Ltd. in 1995 and significant gold mineralization has been identified in the halo of the original Sapawe Mine of up to 24 g/t."

More recent drilling across the central Canada property by Interquest Resources Corp. intersected more than 1 meter @ around 30 g/t gold in diamond drill core and 23.3 meters @ 1.83 g/t gold was achieved by Terrex Minerals in 2012.

Falcon Gold is a mineral exploration company based in Vancouver that focuses on acquiring and exploring properties in the Americas. The company operates several projects in Ontario including Atikokan, the Bruce and Camping Lake projects and the Wabunk Bay base metal project in Red Lake. In addition, the firm has an interest in the Burton gold property near Sudbury.
