The company states the aim is to better define the gold trend.

Newrange Gold Corp. (NRG:TSX.V; NRGOF:OTC) announced in a news release that an induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey has begun on its Pamlico project in Nevada.

The survey, being conducted by Zonge International of Reno, will encompass parts of the Pamlico Ridge and beyond into the Pediment zone. To test the rock responsiveness, the survey will first consist of four to five, 1800-meter-long lines due to the deep level of oxidation, about approximately 300 meters, present there.

The purpose of the survey is to better define the gold trend at Pamlico. "Although there has been extensive oxidation of much of the sulphide mineralization, IP only needs small amounts of remnant sulfides to generate a response. As it appears that very fine gold was originally associated with sulfides at Pamlico, the IP will hopefully help to detect fluid pathways and buried sulfide concentrations, generating drill targets for subsequent follow up," CEO Robert Archer said in the release.

"If the survey proves to be successful in detecting sulphide mineralization, the Company will consider extending the area of coverage," Newrange stated.
