Eguana Technologies Inc. (EGT:TSX.V; EGTYF:OTCQB) announced in a news release it is launching its Enduro home energy storage system in Australia.
Having passed all early testing, the product is expected to be fully certified for the Australian residential market in November.
The introduction of Enduro in Australia results from "demand for a lower price point product to complement the Evolve, under its own brand," the release noted.
"With the Enduro and the modular Evolve at 26 kilowatt hours, we have great market coverage and can be a leader on cost and performance," David Sharpe, owner of Sharpe ERS, an Australian solar power installation firm, said in the release.
In Australia, Enduro and Evolve qualify for the Simply Energy Simply Extra Virtual Power Plant (VPP) program that affords consumers an access credit of up to $5,100 over a period of two years. They also meet requirements for the South Australian Government Home Battery Scheme that offers users grants of up to $600 per kilowatt hour.
"The lower entry price for the Enduro coupled with the grant and VPP funding provides the South Australian consumer the opportunity to enter the storage market for essentially just the cost of installation," Eguana Founder and Executive Vice President Brent Harris said in the release.
