The company has completed 6,500 meters of its current phase 1 program.

GT Gold Corp. (GTT:TSX.V) announced in a news release the results from the first six holes of its 2019 drill program at its flagship Tatogga project in British Columbia.

The goal of the 10,000 meter (10,000m), phase 1 exploration program is to expand the high-grade Saddle North copper-gold porphyry discovery there, and the latest results did just that.

"We have shown that high-grade copper-gold mineralization occurs closer to surface than was previously known and have linked these zones with the deep and very high-grade copper-gold mineralization intersected last year," Vice President of Exploration Charles Greig said in the release.

Specifically, holes TTD116 and TTD112 connected the high grades near surface to those at moderate depths and even to those at the deepest depths.

Hole TTD112 returned 0.7 grams per ton (0.7 g/t) gold, 0.44% copper and 1.09 g/t silver over 685m from 21–706m. More deeply, from 206–705m, TTD112 showed 0.91 g/t gold, 0.55% copper and 1.34 g/t silver over 500m.

TTD116 returned "an exceptionally high-grade interval" of 14 g/t gold and 5.2% copper over 1.82m at the base of the mineralized zone, the release noted.

Hole TTD111 confirmed that the high grades previously identified in hole TTD108 continue updip to surface.

TTD113 showed continuity along strike to northwest of the mineralization at surface.

Mineralization at Saddle North remains open in most directions. As such, GT Gold is continuing to drill. One rig is testing the near-surface, high-grade mineralization along strike and northwest of holes TTD113, 111 and 108. The other is testing the deeper, high-grade zone around 2018 drill holes TTD093 and TTD109.
