Siyata Mobile Inc. (SIM:TSX.V; SYATF:OTCQX) announced in a news release it launched the Uniden UV350, its first in vehicle-mounted phone-tablet (phablet) for use by first responders on the U.S.-based FirstNet communications platform.
The Uniden UV350 combines the functions of multiple devices into one to allow drivers to "keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel to concentrate on the situation at hand," the release noted.
The phablet comes with 4G/LTE high-speed data capability, a 5.5-inch widescreen LED display for easy monitoring and a dedicated microphone and speaker for clear and extra loud sound quality. The device's AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk or Push-to-Talk Over Cellular features allow users to instantly communicate by simply pushing a button. AT&T and the First Responder Network Authority collaborated to develop and support the FirstNet platform.
The UV350 is powered by the vehicle battery and is equipped with cell signal boosting technology and an external antenna for extended cellular and GPS coverage to ensure users are always connected.
Siyata's phablet is the first product of its kind that has been tested in various capacities, including security, durability and network impacts, and approved to operate on FirstNet.
"FirstNet devices and modules go through extensive review, so first responders can be confident that Siyata's UV350 meets the highest standards for reliability, security and performance," Bob Sloan, chief operating officer of FirstNet's program at AT&T, said in the release.[NLINSERT]
