After infilling gaps in the resource model, the area was tested with reverse circulation drilling. The drilling there "continues to expand mineralization along the shallowly north-dipping Claron Formation unconformity, with higher-grade intervals located along west-northwest striking faults."
One highlight hole was PGS615, which showed 2.09 grams per ton (2.09 g/t) gold over 16.8 meters (16.8m) including 3.94 g/t gold over 7.6m and 0.90 g/t gold over 12.2m. Another hole, PGS493, demonstrated 1.08 g/t gold over 12.2m. Liberty will incorporate these results into the updated resource estimate expected in Q1 or Q2/19.
The company plans follow-up drilling in the Dip Slope zone in 2019, following an amendment to the plan of operations that opens up more than 2 square kilometers of new ground and, therefore access, there. Prior drilling had been limited to certain roads and pads.
Liberty also announced results for drill holes testing backfilled areas of two historical pits at Goldstrike close to the Dip Slope zone. One highlight assay, from hole PGS640 in the Hamburg pit, was 0.37 g/t gold over 22.9m. Another, from hole PGS610 in the Hassayampa pit, was 1.58 g/t gold over 4.6m. "Testing of backfilled areas of the historic pits continues to identify areas of above cutoff backfill material," the release noted.
The company noted that it will further test and include these areas, currently categorized as waste in the resource model, in future resource updates.[NLINSERT]
