The change to a conservative government earlier this year in the Australian State of New South Wales has resulted in a strong push to lift a 16-year ban on exploration and mining of uranium.
Commenting today the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) has called on the NSW government to reconsider lifting the ban after a spokesman for the State Mines Minister that he was open to overturning the ban.
AMEC's chief executive said a strong uranium mining sector will bring considerable economic and social benefits to NSW and to the nation.
Overturning the ban will lead to literally thousands of job and infrastructure opportunities in many remote and regional areas throughout NSW. . .View full article
