Back in January, I told my readers about a fascinating small company holding two North Carolina projects capable of turning it into something substantial, Metalsource Mining Inc. (MSM:CSE; SFRIF:OTC; E9Z:FSE).

Its flagship asset, Silver Hill, holds the distinction of being the earliest silver mine ever operated in America, going all the way back to 1839. Drilling is underway at the moment, with further assay figures due out shortly.

On July 2nd, Metalsource revealed it had secured options covering another 141 acres sitting right alongside the ground it already controls at Silver Hill, pushing its combined holding up to roughly 1,300 acres.

On June 30th Metalsource put out more drilling numbers revealing 6.28 meters grading 1,156 g/t AgEq within hole SH26-19. Inside that run sat a 3.6-meter section returning 1,789 g/t AgEq. Keep in mind these figures reflect the length drilled rather than the genuine width.

I'm applying today's metal prices purely to hand investors a rough sense of comparative worth. The length of an intercept nearly always exceeds the true width, and what you actually recover always falls short of the metal's value sitting in the rock.

Metalsource has been putting out roughly one hole every week, and the bulk of them come back with impressive grades that pile more ounces onto the tally.

The company has wrapped up its Phase 1 drilling and is now working through a Phase 2 campaign built to reach greater depths. How well things have gone so far has prompted management to bring a second rig onto the site.
