Methodology for Calculating Average Analyst Ratings
We aggregate analyst ratings for each company, such as "Buy," "Hold," or "Sell." The average rating is determined by identifying the rating most frequently assigned by analysts. In cases of a tie, we list all tied ratings (e.g., "Buy/Hold") in the following order: Buy, Overweight, Outperform, Speculative Buy, Hold, Neutral, Equal Weight, Low Risk, Underperform, Underweight, Sell, High Risk.
Additionally, we compute the average target price in USD and CAD by summing all provided target prices and dividing by the number of ratings. The target prices are converted to USD and CAD based on the exchange rate at the time the consensus data is loaded into our system. This methodology ensures a clear and accurate representation of analyst consensus for investors.
