Sitka Gold reported that during its 2021 drilling campaign, it intercepted 318m of 0.45 g/t gold in the Saddle Zone along with 354m of 0.41 g/t gold in the Eiger Zone at its RC Gold Project in the Yukon.

In a news release, Canadian mineral explorer Sitka Gold Corp. (SIG:CSE; SITKF:OTCQB; 1RF:FSE) announced "significant assay results from the first three drill holes completed this season at its RC Gold Project in Yukon where an active drill program is currently underway."

Sitka Gold stated that so far it has completed 4,634 m of drilling in 14 holes during its 2021 drill program at the district scale RC Gold Project. The company advised that currently its exploration efforts are concentrated on testing high priority targets at the Saddle and Eiger Zones.

The firm highlighted that at the Saddle Zone, from a drill depth of 18m to 336m, hole DDRCCC21-007 intersected 318 m of 0.45 g/t Au, including 104m of 0.57 g/t Au, 92m of 0.61 g/t Au, 32m of 1.23 g/t Au, 14m of 2.09 g/t Au, and 2m of 5.49 g/t Au.

The company stated that results from hole RCCC21-007 showed that almost the entire hole was enriched in gold, which often is indicative of intrusion related gold systems. The firm commented that visible gold with bismuthinite was also identified in the hole.

At the Eiger Zone, Sitka reported that from a depth of 76m to 430m, hole DDRCCC21-009 intercepted 354m of 0.41 g/t Au, including 72m of 0.72 g/t Au, 12m of 1.52 g/t Au, 48m of 0.42 g/t Au, and 1m of 5.74 g/t Au.

The company advised that drill hole DDRCCC21-009, which is located 1,700m east of RCCC21-007, also intersected significant gold mineralization, and it too displayed visible gold with bismuthinite.

Sitka Gold's CEO Cor Coe remarked, "We are very pleased to have received and compiled our first drill results from this season's diamond drilling program at the RC Gold Project. Drill holes 21-007 at the Saddle Zone and 21-009, 1,750m to the east at the Eiger Zone, returned exceptionally long intersections enriched in gold containing narrower higher-grade intervals associated with visible gold and bismuthinite. These results continue to confirm the presence of a large, gold enriched, multi-phase intrusive system that has the potential to host both bulk tonnage and high-grade gold deposits within Sitka's 376 sq. km land package located within the prolific Tombstone Gold Belt. We look forward to releasing further results as they are received and compiled as we continue with our 2021 diamond drilling program at RC Gold."

Sitka stated that it is continuing with diamond drilling at the RC Gold Project and listed that, during the 2020 and 2021 drilling campaigns, it has completed a total of 20 diamond drill holes totaling 6,124m. The firm mentioned that it is presently waiting to receive the core sample assay results for holes 21-010 to 21-020.

The firm indicated that the RC Gold Project is comprised of five underlying mining properties. The RC Gold Project encompasses 376 square km, creating the foundation for a contiguous district scale land package in the heart of the Yukon's Tintina Gold Belt and within the Tombstone Gold Belt.

Sitka Gold Corp., which is based in Vancouver, B.C., noted that its planned 2021 exploration programs are fully funded having recently completed a $6.37 million financing. The company focuses on exploration of economically viable mineral deposits with a core emphasis on gold, silver, and copper properties. The firm listed that it holds an option to acquire a 100% interest in the RC Gold Project.
