Generation Mining plans to conduct this 8,000 meter program at Marathon in two phases.

Generation Mining Ltd. (GENM:TSX; GENMF:OTCQB; 9GN:FSE) launched an 8,000 meter exploration drill program at its Marathon palladium-copper project in Ontario, it announced in a news release. Boart Longyear Canada, the drill contractor, started the first hole, testing the Central Feeder zone target.

The 3,000-meter winter phase of the two planned phases "is designed to follow up on high grade, ramp accessible, drill results obtained from the recently completed 2020 drilling program of the Central Feeder Zone." The company will drill in the Central Feeder zone, where previous drilling returned palladium, platinum and copper mineralization.

Generation also will conduct initial testing of two other areas, the Chonolith zone north of the Main zone, where historical drilling, in 2006, showed potential for wide zones of palladium and copper mineralization, and drilling three holes in the westerly downdip extension of Marathon's Southern W horizon, defined by a set of 20-plus drill holes. Previous drill results returned gold, platinum, palladium and copper values.

"We are excited to follow up on the positive drill results from the summer 2020 program," Generation Mining CEO Jamie Levy said in the release. "The 2020 program also gave us two very prospective off hole conductor targets further down dip within the Central Marathon Feeder zone, which will be part of this program. We are also very excited to test the possible down dip extension in the high Pd grade Southern W-Horizon as well as begin evaluating the Chonolith Zone."

"All three areas have the potential to host ramp-accessible resources immediately adjacent to the Marathon deposit," Levy added.

The company noted that the targets for the "summer drill program are in the development stage."
