In a news release, HighGold Mining Inc. (HIGH:TSX.V; HGGOF:OTCQX) announced that results from four holes drilled at its Johnson Tract gold project in Alaska further extend mineralization to depth and downplunge of the main JT deposit.
"Today's results further extend mineralization to depth & down-plunge of the main JT Deposit. The results also highlight the opportunity to add high-tonnage/high-value mineralization with each new stepout hole," President and CEO Darwin Green said in the release.
Hole JT20-106, a 20-meter (20m) stepout from JT20-95, intersected three closely spaced mineralized intervals for 40.4 meters of total width. One of those is 22.8m of 3.2 grams per ton (3.2 g/t) gold, 4 g/t silver, 0.4% copper, 6% zinc (or 8.2 g/t gold equivalent [Au eq]), including 17.4m of 3.9 g/t gold, 5 g/t silver, 0.6% copper, 7.6% zinc (or 10.3 g/t Au eq) and including 7.4m of 8.6 g/t gold, 8 g/t silver, 0.7% copper, 10.2% zinc (or 17.5 g/t Au eq).
JT20-100, a 20-meter stepout from JT20-96, encountered 17.3 meters of zinc-rich mineralization, the company stated. Separately, it intersected the deeper Footwall Copper zone, demonstrating 17.3m of 6.1% zinc, 0.1% copper, 1 g/t silver, 0.2 g/t gold (or 4.1 g/t Au eq), including 7.3m of 11.1% zinc, 0.1% copper, 1 g/t silver, 0.2 g/t gold (or 7.1 g/t Au eq).
To date, HighGold intersected Johnson Tract (JT) over a strike length of 250 meters and downplunge for 315 meters. The deposit remains open for expansion to the northeast, southwest and at depth.
"Observations of drill core from these and subsequent holes (for which assays are still pending) suggest the JT deposit remains open for continued expansion downplunge and that not all of it is faulted off at depth as was previously interpreted," Green stated.
HighGold completed its 2020 drilling at Johnson Tract of 33 holes over 16,420 meters. The company advised that assays are pending for 23 holes and will be reported as they become available.
"Our first, full-scale exploration program has contributed significantly to the understanding of the Johnson Tract mineral system and the project's exceptional exploration potential," Green added.
