In a news release, Dolly Varden Silver Corp. (DV:TSX.V; DOLLF:OTCMKTS) announced it is expanding the current drill program at its Dolly Varden property in northwestern British Columbia.
"We are prepared to continue exploring through the fall season with the purpose of maximizing the results of our drill plan and budget," President and CEO Shawn Khunkhun said in the release.
The Vancouver-based explorer noted it will begin using a second rig, which is now on site, to drill along the trend of alteration and high-grade silver mineralization that runs 4,500 meters northward from the Torbrit deposit. The silver mineralization there is composed of two distinct types: one, stratiform exhalative and, two, epithermal banded-vein with associated lead and zinc sulphides.
"Torbrit hosts our highest-grade area of the current mineral resource with overlapping styles of high-grade silver mineralization," Khunkhun added.
Dolly Varden noted it is also is planning additional drilling at the Canadian property to expand the existing resource there and support future engineering studies.
