Through recent results, the defense metals company also extends the mineralization there.

Defense Metals Corp. (DEFN:TSX.V; DFMTF:OTC; 35D:FSEQB) announced in a news release that further drill results from its Wicheeda rare earth elements (REEs) project near Prince George, Canada, continue to yield higher-grade zones of mineralization like those encountered previously.

The company reported results from three recently completed diamond drill holes.

Drill hole WI19-25, drilled to define the southern margin of Wicheeda, showed two higher grade intervals. The upper zone returned 3.87% light rare earth oxide (LREO), or cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, praseodymium and samarium oxides, over 24 meters (24m) of drill core. The lower zone showed 3.93% LREO over 23m of core.

Both zones are within a broader REE mineralized interval that returned 2.22% LREO over 142m of drill core. Mineralized rocks extended the mineralization a further 40m to the south of the 2019 mineral resource estimate limit.

Drill hole WI19-26, collared from the same drill pad, returned one longer, higher grade intercept of 4.21% LREO over a 48m drill core interval. This was within a broader zone of 2.82% LREO mineralization that spanned 126m of core.

Drill hole WI19-27, also collared from the same pad but drilled to the northeast, returned an average grade of 2.54 LREO over 118m of core.

Results for the final five drill holes of the campaign are pending.

"We are extremely pleased with the results from these three additional drill holes. The 2019 Wicheeda REE Deposit diamond drill hole assay results continue to yield higher-grade zones of mineralization as seen in drill holes WI19-25 and WI19-26; in addition to expansion of the REE mineralization beyond the limits of the 2019 Miner Resource Estimate. Defense Metals continues to deliver on its stated drill program goals of increasing our confidence in the existing resource and expansion of the Wicheeda REE deposit," CEO and President Craig Taylor said in the release.
