The Canadian firm makes a handful of alterations to the product.

NexOptic Technology Corp. (NXO:TSX.V; NXOPF:OTCQB) announced in a news release that based on customer feedback, it upgraded the design of its DoubleTake binoculars. Manufacturing of the first optical prototypes is in progress.

The major change to the binoculars is with the primary lens, which will now be made entirely of extra low-dispersion optical glass, no plastic parts. "Our new precision, high-magnification lens enables brilliant, bright images, high contrast color reproduction and high detail resolution without increasing size or affecting magnification capabilities," said CEO Rich Geruson.

Other product modifications include redesign of the housing, but not its size, to hold a new, chargeable and rechargeable NexOptic battery, creation of a lens hood for shade under bright light, improvement of the grip ergonomics and brightening the viewing screen by about 20%. Also, NexOptic batteries now can be recharged while the binoculars are in use, stationary or in a NexOptic charging station.

The improved DoubleTake is slated to launch later this year. A set of accessories for it, such as custom battery chargers and more, will be available at that time, too.

The next steps are an initial production run then scaling up production. NexOptic partnered with a U.S.-based project management firm to take the product through the remaining stages.
