A Canadian explorer concluded this based on recent and historical exploration work there.

Metallic Minerals Corp. (MMG:TSX.V; MMNGF:OTCMKTS) announced in a news release the latest exploration results from its Keno silver project in Canada's Yukon Territory.

These findings come from recently conducted exploration work and compilation and analysis of historical data on the Central Keno Hill Silver District, or the central 12 kilometers of the 35 kilometer-long district. That area encompasses the past-producing Keno Hill, Lucky Queen and Sadie Ladue mines along with six smaller high-grade historical mines on Metallic Minerals' property.

Metallic Minerals' work over the past several months included developing and refining its three-dimensional geologic and structural model of the central district. The company also processed and interpreted "airborne resistivity and magnetic data, including integration of new remote sensing data over this part of the project," the release explained.

The company noted that the new results, for one, confirmed the presence of bonanza-grade, Keno-style silver mineralization. Grades of 1,000 grams per ton silver were noted at the late-stage Caribou and Homestake targets. Eight other, undrilled targets were identified as well.

Also, extending from the areas with this type of structure are two new, multikilometer targets with highly elevated silver, lead and zinc in soils in the Keno Summit area.

Also there, the structural corridor, which includes the Keno Hill mine, and the Gold Hill, Duncan and Caribou structures, is about the size and style of the Bermingham-Calumet system. This suggests Keno-type silver deposits could be developed in the central part of the district, the company asserted.

Further, the other corridors that are parallel to the north and south, which host the Bounty and Homestake targets, are like those in the area of the district explored to a greater extent. This suggests there is potential for significant expansion in the Keno Summit target area, according to the company.

"Our focus now is to vector along these mineralized structures within the preferred host rock windows to define the areas of thicker, high-grade, Keno-style silver mineralization that can build towards significant mineral resources," President and CEO Greg Johnson said in the release.

"We are excited about the second half of the year as we follow up on a number of important recent developments and value creating initiatives. We look forward to providing additional news, including new results from 2019 exploration along with an update on the modelling and plans at the Company's targets in the West Keno Hill Silver District," Johnson noted.
