Lion One Metals Ltd. (LIO:TSX.V; LOMLF:OTCQX) announced in a news release that the first set of diamond drill results from its Tuvatu project in Fiji are strong and include the longest mineralization interval seen there to date.
These initial findings are from six holes drilled in the northern part of the Tuvatu resource, testing extensions of the H and T lodes.
Three holes returned notable results. Hole TUDDH480 demonstrated 3.21 meters (3.21m) of 12.98 grams per ton (12.95 g/t) gold, including 0.38m of 91 g/t gold and 0.95m of 15.79 g/t gold.
Hole TUDDH484 showed 19.15m of 8.07 g/t gold, including 8.55m of 10.51 g/t gold and 5.25m of 12.22 g/t Au. The 19.15m interval is the longest one encountered so far at Tuvatu. Results from the bottom half of TUDDH484 are pending.
Drilling also hit on additional lodes, including SKL lodes that appear to be linking structures. An intercept across lode SKL3 in hole TUDDH480 encountered 3.21m of 12.98 g/t gold, including 0.38m of 91 g/t gold.
"The northwest-trending H-T corridor appears to have potential to host a significant new style of mineralization at Tuvatu," Quinton Hennigh, technical adviser to Lion One, said in the release. "Further drilling is need to chase this intriguing mineralization further along strike."
Lion One is doing just that, continuing to diamond drill at Tuvatu.
