With the necessary permit in hand, the company can continue exploring its 1,780-hectare project.

Defense Metals Corp. (DEFN:TSX.V; DFMTF:OTC; 35D:FSEQB) announced in a news release it was granted a mineral exploration permit for its Wicheeda rare earth element (REE) project in British Columbia. The permit was issued by the province's Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.

The permit affords Defense Metals 51 distinct drill pad sites; multiple diamond holes may be drilled on each site.

During the five years the permit is valid, through February 25, 2024, the company will conduct further drilling, starting this summer. With the new program, Defense Metals aims to better define the carbonatite intrusion that hosts REE mineralization, obtain more REE mineralized samples from depth for metallurgical testing and explore the identified but not yet drill-tested anomalies, all at Wicheeda.

Craig Taylor, CEO of Defense Metals, stated, "With the very encouraging initial results from our bulk sample testing, we look forward to drilling additional core holes to further delineate the Wicheeda REE Deposit, in addition to evaluating existing high-priority REE exploration targets within the Property."
