The company starts a one-hour delivery service of cannabis products in Saskatchewan.

ParcelPal Technology Inc. (PKG:CSE; PTNYF:OTC.MKTS; PT0:FSE) is one step closer to becoming the 'Uber of cannabis in Canada,' according to the company's president and CEO, Kelly Abbott.

Abbot made his remarks as part of the announcement that ParcelPal—a logistics company—begins delivery of Kiaro's cannabis products in the Canadian city of Saskatoonon on April 15.

ParcelPal promises to deliver within an hour of receiving an order.

The announcement was made in a news release in April 11 and a month after ParcelPal and Kairo signed a distribution agreement.

ParcelPal explained there are two ways to place a delivery order. In the first one, customers need to access Kiaro's website, select the product they wish to buy and choose ParcelPal as their delivery option.

The system will send an email with a code word that the client must present upon accepting the delivery.

Customers will also have the alternative of placing an order through ParcelPal's own platform. This second option requires an upload to verify customers' identities.

"The identity verification system ensures that the person is of age, and that the identity is in fact real. The identification is checked twice—once before and once upon delivery," noted the company.

According to ParcelPal, either way the system provides for live tracking of the delivery, "so you can watch our driver deliver your goods within the hour."

CEO Abbott stated his hopes that its cannabis delivery services will soon extend to other cities in the province of Saskatchewan and elsewhere in Canada.

"We look forward to expanding into additional cities in Saskatchewan and beyond with Kiaro," he said, adding, "Customers no longer have to wait for upwards of a week to safely receive their product. We are now one step closer to becoming the Uber of cannabis in Canada."

Kiaro's CEO, Daniel Petrov, stated his hopes that ParcelPal’s one-hour delivery will help legitimize the cannabis industry.

"Enabling the delivery of cannabis products within the hour is an important milestone, as we look to legitimize the industry and normalize cannabis use," he said, adding, "Through the accelerated delivery of strategically curated products, we hope to inspire greater cannabis curiosity, exploration and education."
