According to Cash4Gold chief executive officer Jeff Aronson, the U.S.-based company went into Canada not only as part of its global expansion, but because of high demand from Canadians who saw the Cash4Gold advertisement.
Aronson said in a statement, "After months of calls asking when our services were going to be ready for Canadians, we decided that the time was right for expansion."
To trade in unwanted or broken jewelry, a Refiner's Return Pak must be requested at Cash4Gold's website, which would be sent to the jewel owner's residence or office. The value of the items to be traded for cash are then assessed based on the quantity and quality of the precious metal and the price of gold. Then a check is sent to the jewel owner, who could then cash the check at their convenience. Those who are dissatisfied with the Cash4Gold offer have 12 days to contact the firm, which will return the jewelry free of charge.
Since the company was established in 2007, it has handled 900,000 transactions in the U.S.
