Gold Dominates U.S. Money Show

". . .sales were 'almost exclusively gold coins.'"

Gold sales have dominated this year's American Numismatic Association National Money Show, it has been suggested.

According to Numismaster, demand for the precious metal was high at the event, which took place on March 13-15th in the city of Portland.

Many sellers were specializing in the metal, with dealer Julian Leidman telling the news source that his sales were "almost exclusively gold coins."

And fellow trader Bob Campbell explained that attendance was better than expected, with the official figure being put at just under 8,000. "I was very pleased to see the long lines waiting to get in," he told the news source, adding that "90%" of his sales were made to dealers rather than collectors.
