Australia's fourth uranium mine is expected to be up and running by the end of the year after securing a key approval yesterday.

Australia's fourth uranium mine is expected to be up and running by the end of the year after securing a key approval yesterday.

The Honeymoon uranium mine, 80km northwest of Broken Hill, has had its Mining and Rehabilitation Plan (MARP) approved by the South Australian Government.

The executive vice-president of Uranium One Australia, Greg Cochran, said construction of electricity and water supplies for the mine would start immediately, with the aim of producing the first uranium in the last quarter of 2008.
