West Perth-based Intierra Resource Intelligence says that as of mid July there are 242 companies exploring for uranium, 39 of which are new floats dedicated purely to uranium prospecting.
Intierra's Chief Executive Don Pridmore said that assuming the strong interest in new Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) continues then the known list of proposed listings on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) includes a high number of pure uranium explorers.
Pridmore said the momentum now for Australian IPOs involving uranium is showing the quest for this energy metal is now beginning to overtake the new participants for boom base metals including nickel and zinc.
