The procedure resulted in two types of cannabinoids: water soluble and oil based.

Sproutly Canada Inc. (SPR:CSE; SRUTF:OTCQB) announced in a news release it carried out the initial run using the previously licensed, proprietary, aqueous phytorecovery process (APP) extraction technology at its Toronto Herbal Remedies Inc. facility.

The APP process recovered water-soluble cannabinoids, or Infuz2O, with effects of the cannabis occurring within 5 minutes and dissipating in about 90 minutes. It also recovered oil-based cannabinoids, or Bio Natural Oil, a specific strain of cannabis oil.

The company will use the Infuz2O and Bio Natural Oil just produced for research and development and product formulation purposes with respect to cannabis beverages and edibles. Specifically, the Infuz2O recovered in this APP run will be used in the product formulation and the shelf stability testing of rapid-onset cannabis beverages to be developed and marketed by Sproutly's joint venture with OCC Holdings Ltd., a Moosehead Brewing affiliate.

"The successful completion of our first run of the APP extraction technology in Canada marks a major milestone for our company," CEO and Director Keith Dolo said in the release.
